The key decision

A fair offer comparison uses the same net funding, purpose and expected borrowing period. Record the total obligation, payment pattern, security and exit terms alongside the quoted rate.

What to consider before choosing

Create one row for each proposal and fill in unknown fields before choosing. Keep advertised eligibility separate from the terms actually offered. Compare a base case and a downside case. Where one proposal is larger, calculate whether the extra cash has a profitable use rather than treating a larger approval as an automatic advantage.

Your preparation checklist

  • Record net funding, fees, total payments and payment dates.
  • Read guarantees, security and restrictions on more borrowing.
  • Request the payout amount at your likely exit date.

Put the complete offer on one page

Record gross funding, deductions, existing balances paid, net new cash, every payment date and the total obligation. Add the proposed schedule to the existing debt calendar and compare the lowest projected cash balance, not just the average month. Check whether the offer includes mandatory fees that are not reflected in its headline price.

Ask for an early-settlement example and the consequence of slower receipts. Keep interest rates, flat charges, factor rates and annualized estimates labelled accurately. The calculators here are planning illustrations, not quotes, regulatory disclosures or evidence that an application will be approved.

Hypothetical planning example

Put the decision into numbers

Illustration: Offer A provides 48,000 net and Offer B provides 50,000 net. A cost comparison based on equal headline advances misses the 2,000 difference in useful cash.

This is an illustration, not a customer case, provider quote, approval or market benchmark. Unless a currency is stated, use one consistent currency throughout your own calculation.

What to watch

A cheaper offer that cannot meet a real deadline may be unusable; a fast offer can still be unaffordable.

Take the next practical step

Compare written offers using the same net funding and cash-flow assumptions. Start with the offer comparison checklist or run a cost and cash-buffer calculation. Keep sensitive financial records out of a general enquiry until a secure document route is confirmed.
