Our comparison analysis

The funder, the introducer and the asset contract

A broker introduction and a direct funding institution are different roles. Identify both in the transaction and ask who issues the credit decision, owns the asset and services the agreement. Compare a lease or hire-purchase proposal using the same cash asset price and end-of-term outcome. Ask about acceptance, insurance and delivery conditions before assuming that credit approval means the supplier will immediately be paid. Separate any intermediary charge from the lender’s contractual charges.

Worked planning example

Illustrative: a GBP 50,000 machine with GBP 5,000 paid upfront requires a different comparison from a proposal financing the entire price. Add the upfront payment, every instalment and any final purchase amount before comparing totals.

Hypothetical assumptions, not a provider quote or an underwriting rule.

Questions to put in writing

  • What is the exact legal funding entity and origination route?
  • When does acceptance trigger the repayment obligation?
  • What end-of-term and early-exit amounts apply?

Request a dated proposal identifying the contracting lender, lessor or factor, every compulsory charge, the payment schedule and the conditions that remain before funding.
