Our comparison analysis
Combining receivables, inventory and equipment
A multi-asset facility needs more than one valuation assumption. Ask how inventory is appraised, which receivables qualify and how equipment availability amortizes. Model each pool separately before combining them. A seasonal stock build can increase one pool while cash collections reduce another. If refinancing existing loans, reconcile advances to debt payouts and fees so that the usable proceeds are visible. Request release terms for individual machines before assuming the whole asset pool can be traded freely.
Worked planning example
Illustrative: a CAD 1.2 million approved advance that pays out CAD 900,000 of existing debt and CAD 30,000 of costs produces CAD 270,000 of new cash. The gross facility amount does not describe the improvement in liquidity.
Hypothetical assumptions, not a provider quote or an underwriting rule.
Questions to put in writing
- Who performs and pays for each valuation?
- How are reserves and amortization applied to each asset pool?
- What consent is needed to sell one financed machine?
Request a dated proposal identifying the contracting lender, lessor or factor, every compulsory charge, the payment schedule and the conditions that remain before funding.
