The key decision
Six months of trading is a milestone, not a universal eligibility rule. Providers may require different histories, revenue patterns and supporting records depending on the product and market.
What to consider before choosing
Show each month separately rather than presenting only an annualized total. Explain opening-period costs, seasonality, customer concentration and unusual deposits. Separate owner injections and loan proceeds from sales. A strong recent month may not establish a sustainable run rate, particularly if it includes a single unusually large order.
Your preparation checklist
- Provide complete statements for the trading period requested.
- Reconcile major receipts with invoices or sales records.
- Explain what the next weaker period could look like.
Prepare an accurate file, then choose the route
A useful application connects the funding purpose with current business records and a credible source of repayment. Keep entity details, ownership, reported revenue and bank information consistent. Explain material changes rather than trying to make the business appear more established or profitable than the records support.
Ask what information is needed at the initial review and what can wait until a secure document route is confirmed. Do not send passwords, identity numbers or full bank records in a general enquiry. An approval is only useful if the final structure is affordable and suitable for the business.
Hypothetical planning example
Put the decision into numbers
Illustration: one 60,000 month followed by five 15,000 months should not be described as a consistent 60,000 monthly business. The pattern matters for repayment.
This is an illustration, not a customer case, provider quote, approval or market benchmark. Unless a currency is stated, use one consistent currency throughout your own calculation.
What to watch
